Stability and Security in Employment and Decent Work

Thursday, June 28, 2012

Precarious work is often caused by atypical employment contracts and can result in uncertain, unpredictable circumstances for workers such as low wages, no social benefits, and overall job insecurity. FLA’s Code of Conduct, however, requires companies to address and respect the employment relationship throughout their supply chains to ensure that workers are treated fairly. FLA Executive Director Jorge Perez-Lopez recently prepared a paper, Stability and Security in Employment and Decent Work for presentation at the conference, “Decent Work in the Textile & Garment Sector in Peru: Opportunities & Challenges” in Lima, Peru, on March 20-21, 2012.
