China Social Compliance Leadership Series - February 17, 2010, London
The Fair Labor Association is an association sponsor of INFACT’s China Social Compliance Leadership Series, an advanced practitioners’ seminar for company compliance managers, suppliers, vendors, agents, licensees, trading companies and domestic importers sourcing from China. FLA Stakeholder Forum: Wages Along the Supply Chain: Assessment and Prospects - October 26, 2009, Washington, D.C.
The FLA brought together academics and practitioners who have focused on wages, working conditions, and corporate social responsibility in their work, to discuss: (1) current wage practices and issues along the supply chain; (2) current initiatives to address these issues; (3) recommendations on how to incorporate into CSR; and (4) the roles different stakeholders can assume in developing solutions. Ethical Fashion Show Paris: Education for Sustainable Fashion - October 4, 2009
 Auret van Heerden, President and CEO of the Fair Labor Association, discussed the FLA Fashion Project that is being conducted in partnership with the University of Delaware, the Central American Polytechnic Institute and Gildan Activewear, Inc. International Seminar on Business and Human Rights - December 4-5, 2008 (Video clips available)
Marking the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, FLA President and CEO Auret Van Heerden joined panelists to talk about how businesses can work in partnership with government, civil society and development organizations to develop a human rights approach to key global issues.
