Accreditation Assessment of Chenfeng's Social Compliance Program

The FLA Board of Directors voted on June 8, 2016 to approve the accreditation of Chenfeng's social compliance program, based on proven adherence to FLA's Workplace Code of Conduct and the Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Production. Chenfeng owns and operates six facilities in China, and earns accreditation following 12 factory assessments by the FLA, three shadow audits with Chenfeng staff, shadowing on grievance system training, and other research, interviews, and document review by FLA staff. The accreditation report below recognizes significant improvement over time on a number of key issues for suppliers in China, such as payment of social insurance benefits for workers, compliance with the Chinese disability employment quota, and reducing excessive hours of work.  The report explains how Chenfeng will continue to reduce reliance on overtime in its regular work schedule.

The complexity and ever-evolving nature of global supply chains make it impossible to guarantee that a product is made in conditions free of labor rights violations. For this reason, FLA does not certify suppliers. Instead, the FLA evaluates companies at the headquarter level – in addition to standard factory-level due diligence activities that are conducted annually – to determine whether they have social compliance systems in place to proactively identify and address risks or instances of noncompliance.  Please find the full report linked below the photo.
