In cooperation with the German Initiative on Sustainable Cocoa (GISCO), the FLA researched and produced this report in preparation for the 2015 launch of the PRO-PLANTEURS sustainable development project.  GISCO will administer the PRO-PLANTEURS project in colaboration with the Conseil du Cafe-Cacao (CCC, the Ivorian Cafe-Cocoa Council), to improve living conditions for cocoa-producing families.

The report provides recommendations that can be integrated into the framework of the proposed PRO-PLANTEURS project, based on the FLA's research, the aspirations articulated by women and youth interviewed over the course of the project, and PRO-PLANTEURS' objectives. Recommendations include: 1) encouraging equal opportunity decision-making in family cocoa-production businesses; 2) establishing field-schools specifically targeting youth farmers for training and capacity building; and 3) providing youth access to agricultural activities.

The full report, in English and French, appears below, and German-language material on the report and the PRO-PLANTEURS project in general appears at kakaoforum.de
