About the school’s commitment to protecting workers’ rights and the FLA Workplace Code of Conduct:

York University has a Code of Conduct for Licensees requiring them to manufacture or imprint merchandise that has been manufactured under legal and fair labour conditions. Licensees are required by agreement to exercise due diligence in ensuring fair labour practices both in their own and in their contractors’ and suppliers’ workplaces.

Approved licensees are required to register with the Fair Labor Association, and York merchandise sold through York University Bookstores is provided by companies that are members of the Fair Labor Association. The University looks to the FLA to monitor the manufacturers of goods in our supply chain.
