Fair Labor Association (FLA) completed a baseline assessment of ofi (formerly Olam International Ltd)’s cocoa supply chain in Papua New Guinea between April 2020 and September 2021. This independent assessment verified ofi’s labor standards practices in its cocoa supply chain against the FLA’s Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing for Agriculture Sector.
The labor risk assessment covered nine elements of FLA’s Code and Compliance Benchmarks for Agriculture Sector: employment relationship; nondiscrimination; harassment or abuse, forced labor; child labor; freedom of association and collective bargaining; health, safety, and the environment; hours of work; and compensation.
