Converged HREDD Assessment Tool
Developed by FLA in partnership with AIM-Progress, The Consumer Goods Forum Human Rights Coalition, and Proforest, the Converged Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD) Assessment Tool helps businesses identify, prevent, and address potential risks to human rights and the environment across their business operations and supply chains. It is intended to support a wide range of industries, helping all types of businesses assess and improve HREDD practices by standardizing content, requirements, and language and promoting a unified approach to HREDD maturity assessments.
Applied at parent company level, the tool will help businesses assess the maturity of a company’s HREDD systems across its own operations and supply chains, including both service and goods providers. This practical, ready-to-use resource, inspired by company best practices, can be used by companies in any goods/service sector to:
- Self-assess HREDD systems in operations and supply chains
- Engage suppliers in identifying and addressing potential risks
- Streamline due diligence processes, aligned with OECD and UNGP standards
Created through extensive member collaboration and built on feedback from buyers and suppliers, the tool fosters global alignment while reducing reporting burdens.
Based on user feedback in the months since the November 2024 launch, we have made a number of adaptations to the Converged HREDD Assessment Tool, mostly focused on the evaluation results which allows companies to see overall statistics, breakdown by the part of the business and breakdown by HREDD step. There are additional enhancements to support supplier engagement in the form of graphics showing maturity levels and percentage of the assessed requirements met.
