FLA’s Harvesting the Future wins Gold Anthem Award
Prestigious award celebrates organizations and initiatives dedicated to purpose-driven change
WASHINGTON, DC, November 18, 2025 — Harvesting the Future, the Fair Labor Association’s collaborative program addressing child labor, responsible recruitment, and fair compensation in high-risk agricultural supply chains, today was named a Gold Anthem Award Winner in Humanitarian Action & Services: Partnership or Collaboration.
Harvesting the Future, currently active in Türkiye, Egypt, and India, brings together companies, suppliers, civil society organizations, and governments to build scalable solutions that improve labor conditions for agricultural workers and their families using community-based interventions, joint risk assessments, and more.
“This award honors the years of effort the Fair Labor Association has committed, together with our partners—including companies, farmers, governments, universities, and civil society groups—to driving meaningful change at the community level,” said FLA President and CEO Jeff Vockrodt.
As of mid-2025, Harvesting the Future’s 130+ partners had already reached over 20,000 workers, families, and suppliers and led to the rollout of more than 2,000 child protection and educational services, legal wage benchmarks, and supplier capacity building initiatives, becoming a model for remediating labor issues in upstream supply chains.
“We are proud of this unique, collaborative effort that concretely improves the lives of seasonal migrant workers and their families,” said FLA Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer Richa Mittal. “We dedicate this award to the millions of workers worldwide who not only harvest the farms but also produce the clothing and shoes we wear and the goods we use.”
“It is the moment to co–create solutions that bring real change, not just within a single industry, but across sectors, for workers,” said FLA Vice President, Innovation Burcu Kuğu.
The 5th Annual Anthem Awards received more than 2,000 submissions from 42 countries worldwide. Winners were selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Judges for the 5th Annual Anthem Awards include leaders from organizations and companies dedicated to social impact, including the American Heart Association, the Gates Foundation, Land O’Lakes, Inc., IKEA, and others.
“This has been a challenging year for the impact sector, but the winners of the 5th Annual Anthem Awards have shown their resilience and continued commitment to a better tomorrow,” said Anthem Awards General Manager, Patricia McLoughlin. “This year’s winners are a source of hope, and I am excited to celebrate their work with the world today.”
