L’Oréal, the world’s number one beauty company, has joined the Fair Labor Association (FLA), expanding its ongoing efforts regarding human rights across its global value chain.
Operating for more than 100 years across skin care, hair care, make-up, and fragrance, through 40 international brands sold in more than 150 countries, L’Oréal has built a strong working relationship with FLA over recent years, in particular as an active participant in several Harvesting the Future coalitions (rose in Türkiye, jasmine in Egypt, naturals in India), working alongside other organizations to strengthen labor standards, promote decent working conditions, and support the livelihoods of workers and farming communities involved in these supply chains.
L’Oréal chose to formalize this partnership by joining FLA, drawn by its rigorous accreditation standard and its multistakeholder approach, which aligns closely with L’Oréal’s own efforts to maintain proactive dialogue with civil society. This membership helps strengthen L’Oréal’s Human Rights due diligence systems, while further reinforcing the Group’s active role in contributing to progress across its industry, particularly among its suppliers.
