The Fair Labor Association completed a focused assessment of Balsu’s social compliance program during the 2021 hazelnut harvest.
Balsu’s labor monitoring and remediation program — implemented jointly with the Genç Hayat Foundation (GHF) — that focuses on preventing child labor was evaluated.
Though mobile workshops helped reached remote locations and provided children with access to social and educational development. However, a child’s attendance at a workshop does not mean they are no longer a child laborer.
