FLA and the Global Fashion Agenda establish partnership on Better Wage Systems
The Fair Labor Association (FLA) continues to raise the bar on fair compensation and living wage in fashion supply chains by partnering with Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), a nonprofit organization accelerating sustainability in the fashion industry.
In May 2024, FLA and GFA renewed their agreement to collaborate on GFA’s target consultations and reporting related to better wage systems, one of the five priorities of the Fashion CEO Agenda. This initiative promotes fair compensation and living wages, enables worker access to collective bargaining agreements, and aims to achieve pay equity and close the gender pay gap.
As an Impact Partner to GFA, FLA continues to provide expertise and industry insights into how companies in the fashion sector are scaling fair compensation programs, including wage measurement, transparency, remediation, and benchmarking progress towards living wages. As a powerful convener, GFA’s platform amplifies FLA’s commitment to encourage companies to invest in people through their supply chains and purchasing practices.
“Workers in global supply chains often don’t earn enough to meet their basic needs. By helping companies collect wage data, compare it with living wage benchmarks, and develop and implement fair compensation strategies, FLA is making a concrete difference in the lives of workers worldwide,” said FLA President and CEO Jeff Vockrodt. “Partnering with sustainability leaders like GFA is a critical step forward in expanding the way we share information to support living wage progress across the fashion industry.”
“Global Fashion Agenda is glad to continue our Impact Partnership with the Fair Labor Association on Better Wage Systems. Together, we aim to bring the wage agenda to the forefront by leveraging credible data insights, perspectives, and guidance to promote fair compensation and living wages for all workers across fashion’s value chain. We look forward to deepening this collaboration to drive meaningful impact,” said Federica Marchionni, CEO of GFA.
