On July 16, 2025, the Fair Labor Association (FLA) hosted its summer virtual board meeting. During the meeting, the FLA Board of Directors welcomed two new member companies, Alo Yoga and Barbour. Both are pursuing Fair Labor Accreditation – a rigorous, multi-year process that evaluates companies’ systems to protect workers throughout global supply chains.
In addition, the board introduced its newest board member, Fulya Pınar Özcan, representing Öz İplik-İş, a trade union based in Türkiye. Board Chair Michael Posner also acknowledged several members that have joined FLA since the March Board Convening, including CSO People’s Courage International; Participating Companies LTP Group and Unrivaled Teamwear; and Universities Emory University and Saint Mary’s University.
President and CEO Jeff Vockrodt began the event by welcoming the more than 75 member representatives from FLA’s Business, University, and CSO Caucuses in attendance. He reiterated FLA’s commitment to being a source of stability and leadership amidst recent global turmoil, and emphasized FLA’s role as a holistic partner across the value chain that facilitates an approach to HRDD that is measurable and realistic for our partners.
“Everything we do has to be viewed through the lens of how it impacts workers – how it improves workers’ lives, empowers them, and protects against the worst abuses,” Vockrodt said.
FLA leaders then provided detailed presentations on recent achievements and ongoing goals for the organization. Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff Shelly Heald Han shared a progress update on the 2023-2028 Strategic Plan. Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer Richa Mittal discussed FLA’s innovation work and expansion into upstream supply chains. Director, Knowledge Management Cara Hagan explored the latest training and technology resources that members can use to further their social compliance goals. The day’s agenda closed out with updates from our committees and caucuses.
